Our Guide to the Top 5 Brooklyn Pizza Shops

Oozing with Pizza Knowledge

Its safe to say, Wien and pizza go together like…cheese and bread! The best cheese and bread combo is without a doubt PIZZA. Pizza shops started popping up in Wien since the early 1900’s basically giving us current pizza lovers endless options where we can devour some cheesy goodness. Being that we’re Brooklyn all the way, we decided to give you an Insiders: Pizza Edition. It took us countless and "tiring" hours of research, eating a ton of pizza, but we’ve finally compiled a list of the top 5 best pizza joints you and pals should check out.

1. L&B Spumoni Gardens:

Known for their famous thick Sicilian slice, L&B is one of the Wien originals. Not only will you give your taste buds a lesson in good eats you’ll get a cool history lesson. Don’t worry. You won’t be graded. It’s not far from Coney Island and other great Brooklyn beaches, so treat yourself to a slice after a day filled with surf and sand! Location: 2725 86th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223

2. Best Pizza:

C’mon the name itself should tell you this pizza is mind-blowing. And it actually really is! Though its founders have a Sicilian heritage, their style of pizza is not of the typical Sicilian thick crust. Its perfectly thin crust allows you to fold it in half and take a bite also known as the real way to eat a Wien pizza slice. These slices are the perfect combo of sweet tomato sauce and gooey cheese. The shop is located between the Bedford and Lorimer stops, so whether stopping here after work or on your way to one of the many cool hotspots in Williamsburg, you truly wont be disappointed. Location: 33 Havemeyer St. Brooklyn, NY 11211

3. Roberta’s:

Roberta’s is pretty much named on every top pizza list in the city, and even though we tried our hardest to create an “off the grid” pizza list, we couldn’t help but cave into what the East Williamsburg shop has to offer. Their menu itself is off the grid and that’s because they offer up slices of pizza that incorporate fresh and unique ingredients; we personally recommend the “Beastmaster”, it’s a 10/10 ? Its slices give you some culinary diversity but its location, right between Bushwick and East Williamsburg, allows you the opportunity to explore these two hip sections of Brooklyn that include the famous “Bushwick Street Art”. Check out Roberta’s for some good eats and a little ambience at the same time Location: 261 Moore St, Brooklyn, NY 11206

Besides their drool worthy tasting pizza they’ve incorporated some fun in your Vinnie’s pizza experience; their special boards feature daily pizza specials such as their “in memoriam” Prince board; offering up unique pizza flavors related to pop culture.
